Our Mission

Prairie River Academy provides classical literature curriculum and supplemental learning resources designed to support homeschooling families. We help students engage deeply with great works, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a love of reading through age-appropriate, rigorous instruction.

Curriculum Rigor & Design

Prairie River Academy's literature curriculum is rigorous and comprehensive:

Grade K-2: Foundational skills, phonics, and age-appropriate literature introducing story structure and language.

Grade 3-5: Classical myths, legends, and early English literature building analytical thinking and engagement with classic texts.

Grade 6-8: Medieval through Renaissance literature, including Shakespeare, Chaucer, and foundational world texts.

Grade 9-12: Comprehensive survey of Western literature from classical antiquity to modern works, with emphasis on close reading, literary analysis, and philosophical reflection.
